In 2025, RWID went viral. Along with it came the most hurtful accusation: that this is a scam. One of the accusations was very specific, and it is true: I, its CEO, no longer take on work from Upwork.
It is true because I was busy running RWID. But “true” does not mean “there is no answer”. This book is the answer — not a rebuttal, but a work log: I am taking on clients again, and I am building the tools as I work, in public.
There are two things I want to prove at once:
That is why this book is alive. It grows together with Return to Upwork! — the tool I use to hunt for work. Every chapter is written from practice, not from theory. The manuscript is still a draft, and will keep being revised for as long as the journey continues.
This book is not a collection of motivation. It is designed as a working guide, and it deliberately sits side by side with its tool.
Every principle here has a counterpart in the tool: the job feed, the match score, the proposal studio, the pipeline board, and the metrics log. The tool does not take over your work; it only makes the sequence visible. I deliberately write the book and the tool as equally living, because nothing is more suspicious than a working guide whose author does not work.
For anyone who wants to work remotely from Indonesia — beginners who have just created an account, and those who stopped long ago and want to return. No degree needed. What you need is clarity and persistence.
