Privacy Policy: RWID/OS Upwork Job Hunter

Last updated: 12 October 2026. This policy covers the RWID/OS Upwork Job Hunter Chrome extension, operated by Remote Worker Indonesia (RWID) at remoteworker.id.

What the extension does

When you open an Upwork job page or freelancer profile and use the RWID dock, the extension reads that page and saves the result to your own RWID/OS account (a research tab). It does nothing until you start a capture.

Data we handle

  • Website content of the Upwork page you capture: job details, client details shown on the page, the client's recent job history, freelancer profile and completed-jobs list, the page text, and files attached to a job.
  • Account information: your RWID account email (shown as "Connected as") and a session token issued by RWID when you connect.
  • Preferences: the research tab you picked and small interface state.

We do not collect your browsing history, and we do not read any site other than Upwork and remoteworker.id.

Where data goes

  • Captured data is sent only to your own account on remoteworker.id, over HTTPS.
  • The panel asks remoteworker.id, with your token, for your ekoin balance and your referral link. Sending a new job to your tab spends 0.1 ekoin.
  • The extension needs a free RWID/OS account. A one-time activation costs 10 ekoin (new members can claim 100 free ekoin); whether your account is activated is stored on your RWID/OS account, so reinstalling or switching browsers never charges again.
  • Your language choice (English, Indonesian, Malay, German, French or Arabic) is stored in your browser; if you use Chrome sync, Chrome syncs it to your other Chrome browsers.
  • Optional clock styles can be unlocked with ekoin. Which styles you own and use is stored on your RWID/OS account, so they follow you to other browsers.
  • "My Upwork": when you press Scan my proposals on your own Upwork proposals page, the proposal list (title, job link, status, submitted date, rate) is saved to your RWID/OS account to track outcomes. When you press Scan my profile on your own profile and confirm it is yours, a short list of facts (such as title length, skills count, hourly rate, whether a photo or portfolio exists) is saved to generate improvement tips; the page text itself is not stored. These scans run only when you press the button, never in the background.
  • A history of the jobs you scanned or sent (job link, title, client country, the times, and for jobs you applied to, your proposal link and the job's activity numbers seen at your last visit) is stored on your RWID/OS account so you can reopen them from any browser. You can remove entries at any time.
  • The About dialog asks remoteworker.id for the public member count. That request carries no captured data and no account information.
  • Your session token and preferences are stored in the extension's local storage on your device (chrome.storage.local). Disconnecting removes the token.
  • The extension runs no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and sends nothing to any other third party.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data or transfer it to third parties.
  • We do not use it for advertising, or to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility.
  • We do not use it for anything other than the extension's single purpose: saving the Upwork pages you choose into your RWID/OS research.
  • The extension does not load or run remote code.

Your choices

  • Disconnect in the extension at any time, or uninstall it to remove all local data.
  • Delete captured items from your RWID/OS research tab, or ask us to delete your account data.
