RWID/OS

An operating system for learning, building, and creating with AI.

Turn on the laptop and every tool for learning and creating is already there: from web apps to Android apps, even without internet. Made in Indonesia, for Indonesian students and young people.

Still under heavy development. There is no public download yet. Features and looks change every day, and some parts are still only plans.

What already exists

What is written here already runs and has been tested; it is not a promise.

Offline first

Toolchains, caches and learning material are already on disk. The internet is a bonus, not a requirement.

Reviving old laptops

The standard edition is designed for devices with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.

Updates from inside the OS

From 0.2, changes arrive through Settings → Updates over a signed channel, with no new ISO. The public channel is not open yet.

Every window is an equal

RWID apps, the terminal, and native apps appear as the same kind of window, in three window styles drawn by our own compositor.

One-click screen recording

OBS comes preinstalled with a full-screen scene that records the screen and microphone to ~/Videos, with no internet and no setup.
